Many of you may not know this but the minute that you decided to upgrade to iOS 9.3, that is when the fun actually begins. Just kidding, it may or not be fun if you end up getting one of the problems that we reported earlier this week. In all seriousness, we really think that its better to wait till we hear back from Apple on the issue around Safari not working. Once that functionality is fixed, I think iOS 9.3 will be a good product particularly for the new devices. If you have an older device please wait it out for a few weeks till these problems are resolved.
We updated two devices in the last few days. On the iPad which was purchased last year, we did not have any issues at all and are able to use all of the iOS 9.3 functionality. We were not so lucky with one of the iPhone 5 models. Following Apple’s release of instructions to fix the activation issue, we followed the instructions and the device was successfully activated. Starting yesterday, we have experienced issues with Safari and mail links. We are still trying to figure out if there are other workarounds to the problems other than switching off javascript such as using private browsing. We restored the phone to factory setting as well and are still seeing the issue. Clearly this is something related to Apple’s servers.
iOS 9.3 contained an unbelievable amount of issues that we have ever seen in any major firmware release. This version brings us several features like Night Shift mode, password protection for the Notes app, and more detailed features can be found here.
However, not a lot people know that before they can even get started with iOS 9.3, there are some issues they have to overcome. The most common problem that we’ve seen from our readers is the activation problem. This won’t even allows you to get access to your iPhone or iPad.
Apple has acknowledged this and provided a support document to help you get through after installing iOS 9.3 on iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Unfortunately, that doesn’t help either. After reading this information and facts, I hope you don’t make the same mistakes, and some of us did and stay on the same firmware for now.
In this tutorial, we will show you how to stop Apple from showing the software update popup on your iOS screen.
How to Stop iOS 9.3 Software Update Popup from Showing
Step 1: Right away, you should know what to choose. Of course, tap on the Remind Me Later
Step 2: Go to Settings > General > Storage and iCloud Usage > Manage Storage
Step 3: Find the software update and delete it from there
What you just did is basically removed the iOS 9.3 firmware that Apple automatically download onto your iOS device. Once you delete that file, Apple won’t do it again without asking for your permission.
Some other people also suggested that we can use certificates, Software Update Killer, or block http://mesu.apple.com/ from your router to prevent any updates from Apple.
And that is it, for now; we will let you know when is the best time to upgrade to iOS 9.3 in the future article.
