You have just bought your brand new Samsung Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge and are amazed by all the features and options that the phone has. If you are like us, you will appreciate all the options that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and its brother offer. They feature redesigned fingerprint scanners which no longer require a finger swipe. The front-facing camera is 5 MP which can take high-quality images on low light situations and the TouchWiz firmware has been debloated with the most important features remaining.
There are many useful options that aim to make your day easier and Samsung doesn’t disappoint when it comes to adding features. But did you know that there are a few hidden options that cannot be normally accessed?
Samsung has included extra options that even though are implemented into the software, they are disabled by default. This happens because not all options are allowed on specific states. For example, the voice call recording ability is allowed on some countries and prohibited on other countries.
Luckily, user “tiboric” has compiled a list of all the hidden features and options that are on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge and how to enable them. To enable these hidden options you must have root access on your device and a root file explorer. Here’s a list of all the hidden Galaxy S6 features that can be enabled.
- WiFi Phone Calling
- Voice Phone Call Recording
- Disable Camera Shutter Sound
- Manual rotation in gallery
- Scheduled messaging option
- VoLTE Support
- NFC icon removal
There are specific codes for each option. You have to add certain lines to others.xml file that can be found by going to system/csc/others.xml. Check out the original page for all the codes.
