Slow iOS Device, Three Easy Fixes to Consider.

You have an iPhone or iPad that is experiencing the symptoms of a slow iOS device?  With time and usage, some of the habits that we develop can lead to certain performance problems. Here are three easy fixes to consider that should not take more than a few minutes on your part. Please feel free to contribute on any other easy tips that have worked for you in the past.

Tip # 1.

One way to speed up a slow iOS device is by clearing up the RAM.

All you do is hold down the Power button on your iPhone until the “Slide to power off” prompt appears.

Then, just park your thumb (or finger of choice) on the Home button until the phone bumps you back to the Home screen. And that’s it. Just make sure your phone is unlocked because otherwise, all you’ll do is open Siri. This will work with your iphone and ipad.

Thanks to Mark Forrest for sharing this tip online.

You need to be on one of the Apple’s native apps when you do this.

Tip # 2.

By disabling some of the transparency and motion effect settings, you can speed up a slow iOS device.

Disable transparency and motion effects:

Settings > General > Accessibility.

Find Increase Contrast and toggle on the Reduce Transparency option.

In Accessibility, find “Reduce Motion” option and toggle it on

Tip # 3.

Need to free space and storage on the device. I have a lot of photos, what can I do?

In order to save space on your mobile devices turn on optimisation for photos on these devices (settings > photos & camera > optimise storage on your mobile device. You will see a marked difference with time as the optimization feature builds up.
