Safari Slow after El Capitan upgrade, Fix

The El Capitan upgrade is supposed to speed up the Safari experience for most of the users, However a few users are having trouble with the performance and also slow wi-fi related problems. Here are a few steps to a potential fix for this problem.


Step – > 1. In order to make sure that your router is working appropriately, power off the roster and Unplug.Wait for 30 seconds and plug it back in to power your network router. Make sure that the router is working


Step -> 2. Restart your Computer in the Safe Mode. house Apple menu > Shut down. After the machine shuts down, wait for a minute and then press the power button. As the machine is starting up, hold down the Shift Key. Pressing the shift key should happen in conjunction with you hearing the startup tone. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator


Step -> 3. Now that you have started your computer in safe mode, the first order of business is to ensure the browser cache.


Click on Safari > Preferences

And Choose the Advanced option as shown in the next picture.

Switch on the option to show “Develop Menu” in the menu bar of Safari as shown in the next picture.

Click on the Develop menu option on your Safari and choose “Empty Caches” shown below. This will clear your cache.

Step -> 4.  Ensure that you do not have any proxies selected in your network settings. Got to

system Preferences > Network and choose the “Advanced” option at the bottom of the screen.

Select the Proxies Tab and uncheck any proxies that have checked as shown in the next picture. Once complete, press “Apply” to save your setting.

Step -> 5.

Sometimes deleting a connection and re-adding it back on the wi-fi settings also seems to help with the issue. If the above options do not yield you the results, try renewing your DHCP lease by clicking the TCP/IP tab and then pressing the “Renew DHCP”. Also try to reset your PRAM as a final step before you call your Apple Support for more help.
