Russia will, reportedly, ban iPhone, iPad and Mac

Various news outlets in eastern Europe and Turkey are reporting that Russian Government is planning to ban sales of Apple computers, phones and tablets.  The reports indicate that this ban will start next year. News reports argue Russia has labeled Apple a national security threat because they believe that the iCloud service poses a potential national security threat.

It seems that the new iCloud services, especially iCloud Drive,  raises security and privacy concerns of Russian users as iCloud data and files are uploaded to remote Apple servers. Russian Governments want Apple to store iCloud data within Russia and this requires Apple to deploy cloud servers in Russia.

On Monday, a memorial dedicated to former Apple CEO Steve Jobs had been dismantled in Russia.
