Maps alternatives for iOS 6: Best free Map Apps for iPhone and iPad

So you are one of the many that are unhappy about the new Apple Maps that replaced Google Maps. What can you do? Here is a short list that explains your options:


Bing Maps: This app offers excellent map services. Listings and directions are accurate and clear. One negative thing may be that this is not just a map app, Instead, this is an app for Bing services (search, deals, etc) that include maps.

MapQuest App: Mapquest is the oldest online map service. It has an app for iOS devices. This app offers many features like gas prices, live traffic info, etc.

OpenMaps: This free app offers services based on OpenStreetMap.org.

Google Earth: We know that this is not exclusively map service, but it shows businesses, places and roads that you may find useful.

Lastly, give Apple Maps a chance too! Even though it may not be perfect now, Apple will improve this service with further iOS updates, so try to get accustomed to it.
