The iPhone (iPad and iPod Touch) won’t turn on or charge, fix

Several users have reported that their iPhone (or iPad, iPod Touch) shuts off by itself and they are unable to turn on and/or charge their device. Here are some tips to resolve this issue. Please try each step until the issue is resolved:



  1. Check that your battery is not completely drained. Charge your device for about 15 minutes before your device turns on.

  2. Connect your device to a power outlet and try restarting your device by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until you see the Apple logo.

  3. Connect your device to a power outlet and reset your device by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the white Apple logo appears.

  4. If nothing listed above works, restore your device by connecting your iPhone to a computer and open iTunes.
