The iPhone 4S introduced many cool new features including Siri, a personal voice assistant that you can use to remotely control your phone with your voice. Siri integrates Google Maps, Wolfram Alpha, and many other sources to bring you accurate information.
In this tutorial we will be showing you how to customize Siri. This tutorial requires an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0.1 or higher.
Customizing Siri
To start, open the Settings app. Once it has completely launched, look towards the bottom of your iPhone’s screen, where you will see an option labeled General. Tap on this option.
Now, look towards the center of your screen. You will see an option labeled Siri. Tap on this option. From this menu, you can customize Siri. For instance, you can activate Raise To Speak. Once activated, when you lift your iPhone to your head, Siri will automatically activate. This is especially useful if you are an avid Siri user.
Siri Text Dictation
If you would like to use Siri to fill in text boxes, read on! Siri includes an awesome feature called Dictation. Dictation uses Siri’s speech-to-text technology to fill in text for you.
If you would like to use Siri Dictation, simply look towards the bottom row of your iPhone’s keyboard. You will see a button that is shaped like a microphone. Tap on this button to start dictating. When you’re done dictating text, press the large Done button that is located towards the bottom of your screen.
