How to sync, save and print PDF documents on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

If you want to save your PDF documents or books to your iPad / iPhone / iPod Touch, you need to have a PDF reading application on your device. We recommend iBooks. iBooks is a free application by Apple available in the App Store.

iBooks

You can save, view and print any PDF doc with the iBooks application. Simply tap the “Open in iBooks,” button in the upper right corner to open PDF documents, such as a PDF attached to an email or a PDF url on Safari. iBooks will also automatically save a copy of the doc to your iBooks PDF library so you can access this PDF anytime. These PDF files will be synced to the iTunes Book library when you sync your device with iTunes.

If, for whatever reason, you do not want to use iBooks, you may want to try other third party alternatives. GoodReader may be a good choice for you. It is not free ($4.99 in U.S. App Store) but highly recommended by many Apple fans.
