If you are a web developer and need to test your site’s performance on multiple web browsers, this tutorial is for you! Changing your user agent in Safari will emulate another web browser within Safari. This will save you a lot of time and will make testing web pages a snap.
Changing Safari User Agent
To start, launch Safari. Once it has completely launched, look towards the Apple Toolbar. When you do this, you will see an option labeled Safari. Click on this option and a drop-down menu will appear. From this menu, click on the Preferences option. A popup menu will now appear.
Look towards the upper right-hand corner of the window. You will see a button labeled Advanced, click on this option. Now, look towards the bottom of the window. You will see an option labeled “Show Develop menu in menu bar”. Activate this option by clicking on the checkbox that is located to the left of the option. You can now close this window.

Look towards the right-hand side of the Apple Toolbar. You will see an option labeled Develop. Click on this option. When you do this, a drop-down menu will appear. From this drop-down menu, hover over the User Agent option. You can now choose the browser you would like to emulate.
