How To Unlock Realme U1 Bootloader with RMX1831EX_11.A.07 Build

If you have been wanting to unlock the bootloader of your Realme U1, you can do so now. A few days ago the company issued a software update for the Realme U1 device. The update’s build number is RMX1831EX_11.A.07 and is based on ColorOS 5.2.1. The changelog of this update is very short, with just two changes. The first change is the updated Android security patch to March 2019. The second change is the most important one. It enables the possibility to unlock the bootloader of the phone.


The Realme U1 is a phone with good specifications and a low price. Many users have this device because of this reason. However, a big issue with this device has been the fact that is it impossible to unlock the bootloader. As a result, users cannot install custom ROMs, kernels or modify the firmware of the device. All of this changes with the new update.


How to unlock the bootloader on Realme U1


Before you can actually go ahead and unlock the bootloader of the phone, you have to install the latest update. If you do not have the latest build already installed, you cannot proceed with the unlocking process of the bootloader.


Install RMX1831EX_11.A.07 update


The new firmware comes as an OTA update. The rollout is staged so it might take a while for it to reach your phone. If you do not want to wait, you can manually install it.



Method 1 –  Simple Mode



  1. Download the firmware from the link above. Transfer the file to the internal storage of your phone.

  2. Open File Manager and go to the folder where the update file is located.

Method 2 – Recovery Mode

  2. Press and hold the power button to turn off your device.

  6. Select the firmware and tap on OK.

  7. Wait for the file to be installed.
