Update ATT Galaxy S4 (i337) To OTA Android 5.0 Lollipop

AT&T, one of the largest carriers in the US has updated the Samsung Galaxy S4 to official Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware. After months of waiting, AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 (i337) will be finally able to get a taste from the official Android 5.0 Lollipop Touchwiz firmware.

The firmware update comes in the form of OTA and if it has hit you device, you can already update by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Updates. Tap on Check For Software Updates. Download the new firmware and then install it. However, note that your phone status must not be custom or modified as it will not receive the update. If it is, you need to flash a stock firmware.

There are a lot of things to get expected for. The Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S4 AT&T variant (i337) is a huge update over the old Android 4.4 KitKat firmware. The update introduces a brand new user interface based on Material Design. Icons have changed and everything feels more fluid.

There is a new priority mode where you can choose which notifications to go through and which not. When the phone is being charged, there is an indicator showing you how long it will take for the phone to reach 100%. This is a neat feature, especially if you are in a hurry and want your phone fully charged.

Here is everything you need to know about the firmware:

  • Android version: 5.0.1 (Lollipop)

  • Baseband version: I337UCUGOC3

  • Kernel version: 3.4.0-4408911

  • Build number: LRX22C.1337UCUGOC3

The Android 5.0 Lollipop official update for the Samsung Galaxy S4 (i337) comes in at 947 MB. Make sure you have at least 1.5 GB of free storage before proceeding with the OTA update.
