Nowadays, every OEM includes a power saving mode feature to save battery when users need it the most. Samsung has its own normal and Ultra Power Saving Mode, HTC has Extreme Power Saving Mode and Sony has Xperia Stamina Mode. They have different options and settings but all of them have one intention in common, to reduce performance for increased battery life.
Sony specifically has done a great job with its Stamina Mode. Sony users say that they use the built-in Stamina Mode option frequently which manages to decrease the battery usage without degrading the performance a lot.
Unfortunately, Stamina Mode is available only on stock Sony Xperia ROMs and firmwares. If you flash a stock custom ROM on your Sony Xperia device like CyanogenMod 12, Stamina Mode option will be lost. A person who loves this feature and missed it after installing a custom ROM, has created an Xposed module called “Power Nap”.
Power Nap is a module designed to work with Xposed framework. It replicates all the options and features that Sony’s Stamina Mode has. The most important option is “Endurance Mode”. When this option is activated, the phone disables mobile data when the screen is off. There is a white list where you can select which apps to allow to run in the background and which applications to block.
How To Install Stamina Mode (Power Nap) Xposed Module
To install and use the module, you need to have Xposed framework for Android 5.0 Lollipop installed. If you haven’t installed it, here’s a guide how to download and install Xposed framework on Lollipop.
