There is no doubt that Siri is going to be a key component of the user experience design as we move ahead with Apple’s software platforms. Siri is no longer limited to answering mundane and existential questions to keep you entertained but now you can use to avoid spammers and telemarketers on your iPhone.

Wouldn’t it be nice if Siri could announce you the name of the caller or the number when the incoming call comes into your iPhone?

Well that is exactly the new feature that Apple has incorporated into the latest iOS 10 for your iPhones. This feature also works with iPhone 5S and is not limited to the newer versions of iPhone.

You can easily turn on this feature with a few quick settings adjustments.

Tap on Settings > Phone and Tap on Announce Calls

You will see the four options on the next screen which will allow you to control the Siri Call announce functionality.

You can also decide and control when to activate this feature. The choices available for this feature are a) Never b) Headphones Only c) Headphones and Car d) Always.

Please be mindful when choosing to set this feature to Always!

This should be helpful in avoiding those pesky after hours telemarketer calls. Interestingly if the Contact on your contact list has an emoji attached, Siri does spell it out as well.

Try the feature out for some extra entertainment if you have the time!
