Have you ever wanted to show off some of your favorite apps to a friend? Create some Lets Plays on YouTube from your iPhone? Created an iPhone app and wanted to take a video for the App Store? This tutorial will show you how to quickly and easily record your iOS device’s screen in full resolution and original audio.
Things you’ll need:
- An iOS device
- An up-to date Mac
- A Lightning cable.
Step 1:
Log into your Mac and launch QuickTime Player. The device can be found on all recent Macs, and can be searched for by pushing ⌘ + Space.
Step 2:
Take your lightning cable, and plug in your iOS device.
Step 3:
Go back into QuickTime, and on the upper left corner, click file, and then select “New Movie Recording” from the drop down menu.
Step 4:
Hover over the window that appears, and you should see a window that looks like this:
Click the little arrow next to the record button, and a drop down menu will appear. Select your iPhone. If you would also like to record audio from your phone, select your iPhone as the microphone.
Step 5:
Push the record button and get recording! Once you are finished, push it again. To export your clip, click the file menu again, and then export.
