Using a USB flash drive with iPad

A USB flash drive is a data storage device that is removable, rewritable, and small. A lot of people use USB flash drives for transporting and storing personal files and they may want to transfer these files to their iPad. Is this possible?

A USB flash drive is a data storage device that is removable Using a USB flash drive with iPadThe answer is no. You can’t connect any USB devices to an iPad. Although, the iPad Camera Connection Kit provides a USB connector to import photos & videos it doesn’t support the copying of any content from the iPad to an external location. You may also be able to use some USB audio/MIDI devices with the iPad Camera Connector Kit. However, if you use this accessory with other USB devices you may get following error messages:

“The attached volume appears to be invalid”

“Accessory Unavailable: The attached accessory uses too much power”

“The attached USB device is not supported”

If you encounter these error messages, disconnect everything (The iPad Camera Connector and USB device) and then restart your iPad.
