iPhone Wi-Fi not working, fix

Several users have reported that they encounter Wi-Fi connection issues with their iPhones. There may be several possible reasons for these problems. We compiled a list of two common problems and some troubleshooting tips. You may try our solution steps for each one until you resolve your issue.

Symptom 1: I am unable to turn Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on and off because either the setting is grayed out or NA or 00:00:00:00:00 (zeros) is displayed instead of a Wi-Fi address in Settings > General > About.

Solution:

  • Make sure that Airplane Mode is off.

  • Reset your network settings: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

  • Turn on your Bluetooth by tapping Settings > General > Bluetooth, then check your Wi-Fi connection

Symptom 2: My iPhone won’t find/connect to a nearby Wi-Fi network

Solution:

  • Turn Wi-Fi off and on: Settings > Wi-Fi

  • Restart your iOS device: press the On/Off button, then slide to power off.  To turn on, hold the On/Off button.

  • Turn your Wi-Fi router off and then on again.

  • Reset your network settings: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

  • Upgrade your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware. For AirPort Base Stations, MAC: /Applications/Utilities then double-click on AirPort Utility to open it; Windows: Start > All Programs > AirPort. For other third party Wi-Fi routers, please refer to the manufacturer’s documentation.
