Some users have reported poor battery life from iPhones, iPads or iPod touches after the update to iOS 5. This is not surprising, with virtually every iOS release come a number of reports of dramatically reduced iPhone battery life.
There are a number of potential fixes for this issue:
- Reset network settings (Settings>General>Reset).
- It is reported turning off Location Services (Settings>General>Location Services) for Weather and Reminders appears to considerably increase battery life on iOS5.
- Disable iCloud if it’s not being used.
- Turn the Device off and then on again. Simple, but make sure you do that at least once since you noticed the power drain.
