Sometimes there are web apps that we wish we could use as regular apps on our Mac. Well, there is an app called Fluid for that. In fact I did a review on it earlier. But say you want to do the same thing for your iPhone or iPad. Well, there is an app for that as well. It is called Fullscreen.me.
First, you have to go to Fullscreen.me on your iOS device. Then, when you get there, you are asked to type in a url of the website that you want to make into an application. They also offer you some web apps that are already ready to become apps for you. They are mainly Google apps.
Once you type in the url or choose one of the Google apps, you are then asked to name the app and choose its icon. In order to choose the icon, you have to type in a url of where the icon would be. In this case, I wish you could upload an icon from your photo gallery.
Then when you are done here, you can now save it to your Home Screen and there the web app will show up. Now when you open the website, it will look like it is an actual application for your iOS device instead of just a web page.
I am not sure how much one would use something like this. But if you are one to frequent a website on your iOS device a lot, this may come in handy. I know for me, I like to use Instapaper a lot on my iOS device, but don’t want to spend the $5 for the actual app. So I made it into a fullscreen.me web app. Hope this helps you out.
