Maybe you have a Macbook or any Mac for that matter, but there are times when you just need that little extra screen space. Well, instead of going out and spending over $100 on another monitor, why not take advantage of your iPad. Yes, that’s right, I said your iPad. Display Pad is an app that does just that.
Basically you download the app for the iPad as well as for your Mac. Then you hook up the two over WIFI. Once this happens you can now use your iPad as a second monitor for your Mac. Your iPad can be in Portrait or Landscape mode and it doesn’t matter, the app still works. One of the cool things about the app is that you can use finger gestures when you are using the iPad. For example, if I want to scroll up and down on the iPad, I would use two fingers and move up and down. It is quite nice that you can use your finger as your mouse.
I personally love to use the app when I am working on two things side by side and I want a bigger monitor. The app works pretty decently well. Depending on your internet connection, there can be some lag time. One thing I did notice that because I am decently far away from my wireless router, the connection would drop every once in a while and I would have to connect my iPad and Mac again. This was the only real problem I had and it was more my fault because of my wireless. But I noticed once I was in good range of my WIFI router the app worked well for me. There are also a lot of times when I would use it at work with my Mac there. I would put up my Twitter client on the iPad and do my work on my monitor. Less distraction that way.
You can get the app on the AppStorefor $2.99. It is a great price for a very useful app. I highly recommend it if you have an iPad and are in need of some extra monitor space.
