Several users have lamented a change in functionality under iPhoto ’11, in which the ability to easily email photos as attachments is gone. Previous versions of iPhoto included a simple “Email” function that allowed easy composition of messages in Mail.app with photos as attachments. iPhoto ’11 eschews this function in favor of email templates to the dismay of some users.
iPhoto ’11 Loses Easy Emailing of Photos: Workaround
There are a few ways to workaround this issue.
- In Mail.app, create a new message and use the “Photo Browser” button at the top of the message to select the image from your iPhoto Library.
- Drag a photo from your iPhoto library onto the Mail icon if it is in your dock.
