Several users of the newly released Adobe CS5 suite have reported an issue in which Photoshop CS5 and other apps in the package crash upon quit. When this problem manifests, users receive a spinning beach ball when choosing “Quit,” followed several seconds later by a message stating that the CS5 application unexpectedly quit.
This problem may occur after employing a fix for a separate but related issue in which Photoshop CS5 preferences will not stick.
Potential fix
In some cases, this problem may be resolved by creating a new user account
Meanwhile, Adobe users and employees alike are venting frustration with the issue.
A user post on Adobe’s support forum reads:
“So, how can it be that Adobe ships a product of this magnitude with clearly inadequate installation testing on the universe of your possible installation examples”
An Adobe employee responds:
“We’ve been asking the same thing internally.”
